My new post.

You may not have realized it, but you're living in a golden age of female sexuality. Women's rights movements have been hard at work for more than two centuries to bring about the sexual liberation that we've all come to enjoy today—and one of their most important victories was the legalization of vibrators in 1966.Vibrators for ladies were once thought to be "treatment" devices for women with hysteria, a medical condition once believed to be caused by too much sex. By providing vibrational G-spot stimulation to otherwise unfulfilled women, doctors could treat them without having them engage in intercourse (which was considered unhealthy).

Over time, though, these devices became known as "pleasure devices" and were used by both men and women alike for sexual pleasure rather than medical treatment.
